Shipping Information and Returns

All orders are carefully packaged and sent from Dunedin, New Zealand using a tracked courier service with signature required.
I take great care to ensure your jewellery arrives safely and beautifully presented.

Delivery Within New Zealand

  • I currently ship within New Zealand only.
  • Once your parcel has been sent, you’ll receive an email with tracking details so you can follow its journey.
  • Please allow 3–7 working days for delivery once dispatched. Rural areas may take a little longer.
  • All parcels require a signature on delivery for your peace of mind.

Packaging

Each piece is thoughtfully wrapped in a pouch, ready for gifting or safekeeping, and securely tucked into tissue and a box.

Delays or Delivery Issues

I work hard to send orders promptly, but occasionally courier delays can occur (especially during busy seasons).
If your order hasn’t arrived within the expected time, please contact me at j9jewel@gmail.com and I’ll help follow up with the courier.

Custom Orders

For made-to-order or custom pieces, please allow extra time for crafting before dispatch. I’ll confirm an estimated completion and shipping date when we finalise your order.

Responsibility

Once your parcel is handed over to the courier, it’s in their care — but I’ll always do what I can to assist if there are any issues or concerns.

Returns & Exchanges

I want you to be completely happy with your jewellery.
If you’re not satisfied with a non-custom piece, please get in touch within 7 days of receiving it.

  • Items must be returned in the same condition they were sent — unworn and in original packaging.
  • Return shipping is at the buyer’s expense, and I recommend using a tracked courier for safety.
  • Once received and inspected, I’ll arrange an exchange or refund (excluding shipping costs).

Because each custom-made piece is unique, I can’t offer refunds or exchanges once production has started — but if there’s ever an issue or adjustment needed, please reach out and I’ll do my best to help.

Thank you for visiting my website and supporting handmade New Zealand craftsmanship. Every piece I create is designed and made with care in Dunedin, NZ. Please take a moment to read the following Terms & Conditions — they help make sure everything runs smoothly for both of us.

  1. General Information

This website and all items sold under the name Jewellery by J9 – J L Mowat Jewellery are owned and operated by Janine Mowat, Dunedin, New Zealand.
By purchasing from this site or commissioning a custom piece, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

I may update these Terms occasionally — the latest version will always be available on the website.

  1. Custom Orders & Handmade Process

All pieces are handcrafted, and many are made to order or individually customised.
Once you’ve approved a custom design and payment (or deposit) has been received, work will begin on your piece. Because each custom order is unique, these cannot usually be cancelled or refunded once production has started — but I’ll always do my best to help if something changes.

Due to the handmade nature of my work, small variations in texture, finish, or stone details may occur — these are part of what makes each piece special and one-of-a-kind.

  1. Pricing & Payments

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
Payment methods accepted include PayPal, bank transfer, or credit card.
Prices may change without notice, but confirmed orders will not be affected.

If a pricing or listing error occurs, I’ll let you know as soon as possible before processing your order.

  1. Shipping & Delivery

I currently ship within New Zealand only using a tracked courier service with signature required.
You’ll receive tracking details once your order has been sent.

I take care to package each item safely and beautifully, but I can’t be responsible for delivery delays once a parcel is with the courier. If there’s ever an issue, please get in touch and I’ll do what I can to assist.

  1. Returns & Exchanges

I want you to love your jewellery.
If you’re not completely happy with a non-custom item, please contact me within 7 days of receiving it. Items may be returned or exchanged provided they are in the same condition they were sent — unworn and in original packaging.
Return shipping is at the buyer’s expense, and I recommend using tracked courier.

Custom-made pieces are generally non-refundable, unless there’s a genuine fault with the item.

If a repair or adjustment is needed, please get in touch — I’m always happy to discuss options to ensure your piece is perfect.

  1. Product Descriptions

I do my best to ensure all descriptions, photos, and details are accurate.
As each piece is handcrafted, slight variations may occur — these make your jewellery uniquely yours.

  1. Intellectual Property

All images, designs, and written content on this website are the property of Jewellery by J9 – J L Mowat Jewellery and may not be copied or reproduced without written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this site or my products.
